MLRC’s Befriender programme is an invaluable asset to MLRC as we recognise that the legal system can be alienating, difficult and frustrating to negotiate.
More information about MLRC and the programme can be found here.
As part of this service, volunteer befrienders are matched with MLRC clients to provide emotional and practical support as they go through the difficult process of navigating homelessness and housing crisis.
The role may entail such activities as helping the individual to fill in forms, accompanying them to court and helping them to attend appointments, as well as providing vital support and connection at a challenging time.
