MLRC were delighted to host another Christmas event, which gave us an opportunity in an informal way to thank friends, funders, befrienders, interns along with members of the Board and staff for their work and support during the year, which has kept Mercy Law Resource Centre in a position to continue to offer free legal advice and representation at a time when our services are more vital than ever.
Our Christmas gathering this year was held on the 3rd December 2014 and once again the Wisdom Centre at Sophia Housing, Cork Street, Dublin 8 was our welcoming oasis. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff of Sophia for helping us organise this event and a special thanks to wonderful Chef Trevor and his staff for a beautiful festive spread.
Helena O’Donoghue, chairperson of the MLRC Board, behalf of the Centre thanked all who have worked pro-bon, volunteered and funded our much needed service and supported us in any way throughout the year. MLRC are pleased that the work we do has positively affected the lives of some of the most marginalised in our society.
We were delighted that Alice Leahy of Trust could make time in her schedule to talk to our gathering about her work with the homeless over the years, a very lovely piece which moved all gathered.
