We were delighted to see our pro bono partners A&L Goodbody win an award last week for Excellence in Community Volunteering at this year’s Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact Awards. The firm won the award for our project ‘supporting housing rights and homelessness through free legal assistance’.
This project started in 2018 when MLRC built on an existing legal outreach clinic with the assistance of corporate partners A&L Goodbody to develop a pro bono housing law clinic. The project is an innovative housing law clinic operated from and in partnership with the Focus Ireland service in Temple Bar. The housing law clinic is a partnership between Focus Ireland, A&L Goodbody and MLRC which was supported and facilitated by the Public Interest Law Alliance (part of FLAC).
To read more about this partnership, see this report published last year that explores the history and development of the project.
Our sincere congratulations to A&L Goodbody and the excellent and committed pro bono team at the firm for supporting our work and impacting on the lives of the many vulnerable homeless people who access legal support through the clinic.
