As an organisation that hugely values the strong pro bono partnerships we have, MLRC is delighted to support our friends at PILA (The Public Interest Law Alliance) as they come together with several of the largest law firms in Ireland to create a varied programme of events to celebrate Pro Bono Week Ireland 2023.
Pro Bono Week Ireland which will take place from 20th to 25th November is part of the wider EU project of European Pro Bono Week to celebrate the role played by volunteer or pro bono lawyers in helping civil society bring about social change and justice.
The primary aim of the week is to create a space where the various actors in the pro bono network can discuss the major areas of legal need at both national and European levels.
One of the highlights of the week will be an NGO pitch which introduces NGOs with unmet legal needs to pro bono legal practitioners from across the country. Another highlight is the launch of the 2023 Pro Bono Pledge Ireland Report at which MLRC Managing Solicitor, Aoife Kelly-Desmond will take part in a panel discussion.
