At MLRC, our commitment to fundraising standards is absolute. We adhere to the Guidelines on Charitable Fundraising, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in all our fundraising efforts. Our Donor Charter reflects our dedication to treating donors with respect and transparency and ensures that donations are used effectively to further our mission. Additionally, our public compliance statement serves as a testament to our commitment to meeting and exceeding regulatory requirements.
Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public
As a charity that may seek donations from the public, MLRC has adopted the Charities Regulator’s Guidelines for fundraising MLRC adheres to the Guidelines found here.

- MLRC is committed to complying with the Guidelines and has formally discussed and adopted the Guidelines at a meeting of the governing body.
- MLRC confirms its commitment to the principles set out in the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public by a statement to that effect in its annual report.
- MLRC has a Donor Charter which is consistent with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public.
- MLRC regularly monitors compliance with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public and compliance reports are received regularly by the governing body.
- MLRC considers the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public when planning all fundraising activity.
- MLRC does not presently work with third party fundraisers but if it is intended to do so in future will ensure a policy is put in place in that regard.
- MLRC provides honest, open, accountable and transparent disclosure when fundraising from the public.
- MLRC has appointed the Managing Solicitor to be responsible for compliance with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public.
- MLRC ensures that fundraising staff are provided with information and training on the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public and its implementation.
- MLRC has a feedback and complaints procedure consistent with the Guidelines. Feedback is recorded for review by relevant staff including the Managing Solicitor and governing body. Feedback is responded to promptly and appropriately.
- MLRC prepares financial reports consistent with the requirements of the Charities Act 2009 and the Charities Regulator which include a statement concerning the extent to which control of the organisation is independent of its funding sources.
- MLRC ensures that all donations are tracked and recorded and complies with data protection requirements.
